On February 5, during the BUDMA 2020 fair, DAFA Association organised a conference entitled "Fire Protection in Buildings - Design and Implementation Aspects".

The aim of this event was to increase the participants' awareness of fire protection as well as present design guidelines and good practices in selecting appropriate solutions for buildings.

The conference was attended by almost 350 people dealing with the issue of fire protection, including mainly: firefighters, designers, architects, contractors and specialists supervising construction processes.

The following papers were delivered during the meeting:

  • Technical and Building Regulations for External Walls in the Scope of Fire Protection (Krzysztof Bagiński, M.Sc. Eng.);
  • Selection of Correct Solutions for External Walls in the Scope of Fire Protection (Monika Hyjek, M.Sc. Eng.);
  • Fire Resistance Class of Internal and External Walls - Formal Requirements and Practical Aspects in Design and Execution (Ryszard Stępkowski, M.Sc. Eng.);
  • Good Engineering Practices in the Design of Smoke Removal Systems in Production and Storage Facilities (Tomasz Drzymała, Ph.D., Paweł Wróbel, M.Sc. Eng., Łukasz Ostapiuk, M.Sc. Eng.).
  • Effective Smoke Removal of Industrial and Warehouse Facilities (Maciej Fiecek, M.Sc. Eng.).

The event was enriched with individual case studies by questions to the experts. DAFA Association guidelines: Fire Safety of Walls and Facades were also premiered during the conference. The conference organisers hope that they will serve as an instrument to popularise knowledge on how to prevent fires, as well as will contribute to improve structural safety.

"Safety & Fire Technology" Journal covered the event with the media patronage.
