Abstract
Introduction: The article presents a short characterisation of the pedagogical supervision and counselling term, as well as indicates functions they play in education. It pays attention to their origination in fire services. The authors mention their characteristic forms gaining shape since the seventies of the 20th century. The thesis discusses initiatives undertaken to improve the situation within the above-mentioned scope, although many of them were realised only after established of the State Fire Service. Establishing Pedagogical Supervision Department in the Main NFS Headquarters during the difficult period of service transformation and during the time it was burdened with additional tasks associated with emergency improved the quality of education.
