Abstract

Introduction: This paper discusses tasks of the system supporting chemical and ecological safety in the aspect of decontamination hazardous substances which are formed during decontamination of vehicles and other mobile systems in situations of extraordinary risks. Furthermore, the article analyses the needs arising from fire protection, rescue actions and safety of people, animals and equipment. Based on the results of literature data, directions of chemical and ecological rescue development which increase the safety of people and the environment were presented. The paper demonstrates the need for development of Polish normative systems based on the EU directives on the assessment of the decontamination process under threats conditions including terrorist threats using biological weapons.
